Aha! Roadmaps | Import documents from Confluence

From user research and process flows to engineering documentation and release notes, you have a lot of product information to keep track of. But with documentation scattered across several different platforms, it can be difficult to find the information you are looking for. Centralize your product information you have stored in Confluence (Cloud, Server, or Data Center) and import it into Aha! Roadmaps — so you can have a central hub for product information.

Overview

It is important to understand a few key details about the Confluence importer in Aha! Roadmaps before importing notes:

  • You can import notes from Confluence Cloud, an on premises Confluence server, or from Confluence Data Center.

    • If you are unsure where your Confluence instance is hosted, check your Confluence URL. If it contains atlassian.net, then you are using Confluence Cloud.

    • To connect to Confluence Data Center or Server, you may need to complete additional configurations steps:

      • Allow list Aha! Roadmaps in your firewall so it can make connections to your server to create notes.

      • Obtain a publicly resolvable, valid Confluence Server URL to link to during the import.

  • Anyone with contributor permissions can import notes from Confluence into any Aha! Roadmaps workspace they have access to.

  • The import is not an integration — importing notes from Confluence is a one-time, one-way import from your chosen Confluence space into an Aha! Roadmaps workspace. This means that updating a note in Confluence will not update it Aha! Roadmaps.

  • Aha! Roadmaps will attempt to match the original note content and formatting as much as possible. This includes text, font styles, color, formatting callout boxes, labels, tables, and links.

  • Images and attachments will be imported along with any note they are attached to and will appear in the same location with the note.

Supported audio file types include MP3, WAV, and OGG. Supported video files include MP4, WEBM, and OGV and should be under 300MB.

  • Some aspects of your Confluence space cannot be imported. In this case, the import will include a link back to the original Confluence note. Unsupported aspects include: user mentions, comments, note history, extensions, and plugins.
