Import from CSV

The CSV import is the most versatile option available to you. Almost any data source you use can provide you with a CSV export. The CSV import wizard in Aha! will walk you through the fields you can import, how to format them, and how to link your import's columns with the right Aha! fields.

You can import the following record types by CSV file:

  • Workspaces and workspace lines

  • Goals

  • Initiatives

  • Releases / Schedules

  • Epics

  • Features / Activities

  • Ideas

  • Idea votes

  • Idea portal users

  • Idea organizations

  • Aha! account users

  • Custom table records (Enterprise+ only)

You can use the CSV import to create new data in Aha! or to edit existing data.

Aha! provides robust integrations with a variety of development tools, including Jira, Azure, Rally, Asana, GitHub, and Trello. If you are shifting your strategic planning work from a development tool to Aha! (or want to populate Aha! with records from a development tool), then you will likely want to import records from one of these tools.

Import from Trello

If you built your roadmap in Trello initially, do not worry — you do not have to recreate your work in your new Aha! workspace. Use our Trello import to pull records directly from Trello into your features board.

Import from UserVoice

If your first ideas portal was in UserVoice, you likely want to import your ideas backlog into Aha! so that you can connect your ideas to your strategy and populate your new Aha! ideas portal with ideas your users have already submitted.

The Import from UserVoice option allows you to import the following information:

  • Idea name

  • Idea status

  • Portal users

  • Idea votes

  • Idea comments

We recommend using this import as a one-time migration of data from UserVoice to your Aha! ideas portal.
