Instantly show related record cards on whiteboards

Context is helpful. The more everyone understands how your plans tie together, the easier it is to align on the path forward. Many of you love using whiteboards to refine your plans. So today, we are introducing a faster way to lay out the full details.

Now, you can import related records onto a whiteboard in Aha! software — to show all the ways your plans connect.

Whiteboards in Aha! software provide a free-form space to collaborate on product plans. You can already add existing work items from Aha! Roadmaps, Aha! Ideas, Aha! Teamwork, or Aha! Develop on whiteboards, which is perfect for moving items around as you explore different options. You can also highlight dependencies between those items to understand how they impact one another. Today's update takes this a step further, instantly displaying other relationship types to give you the complete picture.

Start by bringing work items — like initiatives, releases, and features — onto your whiteboard. Then, right-click on any record card to import parents, children, dependencies, or related records. (You can also use the More options button in the toolbar.) The items appear on your board in a layout that shows their hierarchical relationship. This makes it easy to see how initiatives link to goals or how features tie to releases or epics.

In the example below, we are doing quarterly planning for Fredwin Cycling, our fictitious cycling app. First, we lay out the initiatives and epics we want to work on this quarter and show the dependencies between them. From there, we quickly import the children for each epic to see the underlying features. This helps everyone understand the full scope of what needs to get done as we finalize the details.

As part of today's update, we also made it possible to export your workspace hierarchy onto a whiteboard to freely explore potential changes to the hierarchy. From your Account settings, choose Export hierarchy to bring the full structure of your account (up to 1,000 workspaces) into a visual format. Or export a workspace line and its children from the More options button within a workspace.
