Just Launched! — Enhanced Aha! + Azure DevOps Integration Supports Agile Sprints
Many of you rely on the Aha! integration with Azure DevOps to coordinate plans with your engineering teammates. Today’s enhancement improves release syncing between both systems. The integration now keeps features in their planned Aha! release, even as engineering moves them into sprints in Azure DevOps. This will help both teams work together closely as you go from planning to building.
Now when you send a release from Aha! to Azure DevOps, features will remain in that same Aha! release throughout development.
When you send a release from Aha! to Azure DevOps, it maps to an iteration. The engineering team then creates child sprints within the iteration and moves the features you prioritized in Aha! into each one. Before this enhancement, those sprints were then sent back to Aha! and mirrored as releases.
Now, sprints in Azure DevOps will no longer be pulled into Aha! as releases. Features will stay grouped together in the same Aha! release that you sent over. You can track which sprint a feature belongs to by using a custom field in Aha! — this provides greater control over how you organize work in each application.
Here is how to sync releases in Aha! with sprints in Azure DevOps:
Plan releases in Aha! Prioritize features within releases in Aha! as you always do. Use the bi-directional integration with Azure DevOps to send the planned work to your engineering team. As engineering assigns features to sprints in Azure DevOps, the integration keeps those features in the release in Aha! — making it easier for you to track progress.
Receive sprint information from Azure DevOps Create a custom field in Aha! to capture sprint information within an editable choice list. Then, modify your integration field mappings to set a one-way link from the iteration level you use to organize sprints in Azure DevOps to your new custom field. A customizations administrator in Aha! can create the custom field. Product owners can modify integration settings.
Track release progress by sprint Include your new custom field in list reports, pivot tables, and roadmaps. In the example below, we created a pivot report to track features grouped by the engineering sprint in Azure DevOps for a specific release. This way, we can see exactly when features will be developed and the status.
Keep track of all the awesome work that is happening during development directly in Aha!
Now you can easily track release updates. Sync your features in Aha! with sprints in Azure DevOps to quickly see what will be delivered and when.
