Import Miro whiteboards into Aha! software

by Claire George

Still switching between Miro and Aha! software? When visuals are separate from roadmap plans, it is hard to see how early thinking connects to what the team is building. You waste time opening tabs, retracing steps, and trying to remember where key details were captured. That disconnect makes it challenging to get others on board — especially when you are moving quickly and need everyone to understand the full picture.

Import your Miro whiteboards directly into Aha! software — to make visual thinking a seamlessly integrated part of product planning and development.

Whiteboards in Aha! software are purpose-built for product teams. You can map user flows, sketch mockups, collaborate on early-stage roadmaps, and wireframe features. Better still, you can convert concepts directly into roadmap items, tying visual concepts directly to product plans. And now, you can bring in your existing whiteboards from Miro — making them easy to access and update. This also allows you to consolidate tools and avoid unnecessary spending.

To get started, go to Import documents in your Workspace settings, choose Miro, and select the whiteboards you want to bring in. Imported boards will appear in a folder at the bottom of your document hierarchy. The importer closely recreates your content — including sticky notes, shapes, images, and text — so you can keep on editing. It does a great job of bringing in common shapes, but more complicated views may lose a little fidelity. This is why we also included the ability to add whiteboards as PDFs so you can have a static version for reference.

In the example below, we are migrating a few whiteboards from Miro to support planning for a fictitious marketplace. These include a user story map and related diagrams that capture early thinking. This process makes it easier for the team to review customer scenarios and define requirements — without switching tools.

Import your whiteboards from Miro individually or in bulk to save time.

Once finalized, we can share whiteboards and embed them directly into relevant records (such as a feature or release description). This gives development teams the visual context they need to stay focused on building. We can also instantly convert whiteboard items — including shapes, sticky notes, and text boxes — to initiatives, epics, and features on our roadmap.

Centralizing all your information in Aha! software makes product planning more efficient.

If your team has whiteboards in Miro, use the new importer to streamline your work. It is available to almost all Aha! software customers at no added cost. You will love how simple it is to move between visual thinking and structured plans — and connect the two.
