Enable stakeholders to drill into charts on shared webpages

by Claire George

Keeping stakeholders informed is a constant challenge for product managers. Plans evolve, priorities shift, and new questions arise. Shared webpages in Aha! Roadmaps have long been a simple way to share up-to-date product information with people outside your account. Now, we are making it even easier for these folks to find the answers they need — with the ability to drill into the data behind your charts.

Give stakeholders the details they need without having to ask you. Let them explore the data behind your charts — right from a shared webpage.

Shared webpages make it easy to showcase live product data to people outside your Aha! account. Save any roadmap, report, dashboard, or presentation as a link or embed it as an iframe. The webpage stays in sync with the latest data in your Aha! Roadmaps or Aha! Ideas account — so your audience always sees the most up-to-date information. You can even enable single sign-on for an added layer of security.

Your audience may still have questions about the details behind your shared data. Previously, drill-in functionality allowed stakeholders to explore specific details on roadmaps and reports. For example, sales and support teams could view feature-level details for upcoming releases. This functionality now extends to charts.

With drill-in enabled, stakeholders can click on a chart section to see the data behind it. You control what they see by customizing the underlying report — simply add fields or order columns to highlight the most relevant context for your audience.

Let's take a closer look at how you can use the new functionality:

Share strategic progress

Imagine you are a product manager for a fictitious cycling app called Fredwin Cycling. You create a dashboard to update the leadership team on progress toward your goals and initiatives. To share it, simply save the dashboard as a webpage and enable interactive charts. Then, copy the link and send it to the team — giving everyone direct access to the latest strategic updates in a clear format.

Dive into chart details

Now, consider the leadership team's perspective as they review the shared dashboard. There is a lot of great information here — they want to dig deeper into the data.

For example, on the "Features by initiative" chart, they can click on any slice to see a detailed breakdown of the features driving a specific initiative. A drawer opens, displaying relevant details (like name, status, and progress). This gives leadership a clearer view of how the data connects to broader goals and helps surface meaningful insights for future discussions.

Each panel automatically updates as the underlying data changes, ensuring drill-ins always reflect the latest updates.
